Dear Grad Parent Committee,

Thank-you for taking the time and effort you have put in to organize the grad events. However, there are a few concerns that I have relating to these grad events.

I feel that the grad class this year did not have much of a say in the grad events. We were not involved in which events we would like to have for our grad year. Also, I found it a bit confusing to figure out what was happening and finding out the details of who to pay and what the money was for. I would hear information from numerous people, and everything that I heard was different from what the last person said.

Thank-you for taking the time to read this letter.

I appreciate all that the committee has done in making this year a great year for the grads.

Sincerely,

Jessica Staetter

MUSIC

Music has had many influences on my life. I always have music playing in my room, or on my ipod.

The music that I listen to always depends on the kind of mood I am in. When I’m upset or in a bad mood, I listen to rock music like Three Days Grace, or Billy Talent. When I’m hanging out with friends, we listen to upbeat music that creates a fun atmosphere. Some of my favorite music that I can listen to no matter what mood I am in is Christina Aguilera, Tupelo Honey, The Fray, and Carrie Underwood.

The places you go play music to create the desired atmosphere. When you go to the mall, you hear the top songs that are always on the radio. Hearing these songs played at the mall may influence your decision to listen to these songs or not because the mall is a popular place, so everyone hears the same music labeling it “the music to listen to.” The popular songs are also advertised in movies, and advertisements. I personally don’t choose my music preference based on “the music to listen to.” I won’t make a new CD of all the latest songs unless I like them.

The lyrics in songs usually have a big impact on whether you like a song or not. Whenever I hear a new song, I always look up the lyrics when listening to the song to see what the song is actually saying. Also, when I get to know the songs and listen to the lyrics carefully, they sometimes make me realize things that I didn’t before. I don’t like to listen to music that has tons of swearing in it because then it can rub off on me. Another reason why music is a big part of my life because it’s comforting when I am just in a blahh mood and not up for much, I love to just sit and do nothing but listen to music. Christina Aguilera is one of my favorite singers because a lot of the songs she sings, are real life and genuine.

There comes a time in life when you realize ;
Who really matters, Who never did,
Who always will ;
and in the end we learn Who is fake,
Who is true, and Who would risk it all for you <3

Lesson Learned

It was a warm, breezy afternoon during the lunch hour at King Traditional School. I was in grade four. Two of my friends and I were sitting on one of the yellow gates that blocked the entrance to the school. The gate was open so it was swung open to the side. We were sitting on the gate trying to balance ourselves without falling. We would hoist ourselves up and then hold hands to see who could balance the longest. One day as we were doing that, I started to fall but tried to get my balance back. I fell backwards and since I was holding hands with my two friends, I had no hands to stop my fall and I fell smack right on my head. When I tried to get up I was so dizzy, and everything was blurry like I had just gotten off a roller coaster at play land. My friend ran to grab a lunch time supervisor which just so happened to be my aunt that day. She took me to the office so I could sit and wait until my mom came to get me. When my mom came, she decided to take me to the doctors to see what he would say. The doctor told me that I had a hematoma and that my mom would have to wake me up every two hours during the night to make sure that when I fell asleep, I would still wake up. I ended up with a huge bump like the size of a goose egg on the back of my head. I did learn a good lesson though; and still now to this day, I don’t sit on those entrance gates anymore!
i love music.. music is my life. <3
